LX3 on it's way from Gunns. Expected tomorrow.

I'm leaving all the big stuff at home when we head to the Lake District on Saturday and going to take a chance with this little baby. It will be nearly the very opposite to what I'd normally do as I'm a telephoto freak normally. We'll see how it goes. Looking at the quality of jpegs that it produces I'll be going 100% raw!

    If anyone gives a sh1t like :D.

we're going in reverse, i've had one nearly a year, but now returning to film.
Best of luck with it, great camera

Bring the big stuff too! The Lake District is a low altitude training zone used by the RAF,USAF.....so you'll most likely have an opportunity to see some modern military metal at operational heights.

I'd like to hear/see how you get on with it. I've been considering getting one for a while now.

It arrived today and I have just taken a few shots to see what the quality is like. Judging from the samples in the reviews that I have read jpegs are processed to hell and this turns out to be the case. I find the jpegs awful.

Raw is a different story though. I'm mightily impressed with the quality of tones and sharpness of the lens. This suits me fine as I usually shoot raw anyway.

Here is a shot processed from raw. You can download the 10MB file and have a look. I will post link to an unprocedded raw after the holidays:

its certainly very handy and portable, find quality doesn't compare to slr , but for what it is, its great - I'm on a quality buzz for now, going so far as to reverting to film :-)
