hi hoping some one can give me some advice. I am abroad for the summer, but I want to get a visa for russia for when my gf comes visiting. So im gonna post it back to her to get the visas sorted in the embassy.
Just wondering, will she get any grief if she brings my passport with her when she flies out to me here? Would it be safer/less hassle in her carry-on bag or in her checked-bag?
Otherwise she will have to post it back out to me, which might leave us tight for time

You should give her a letter to say that you give temporary leave for her to carry your passport.

We had an issue years back applying to get a Visa for my sister to travel back into Australia after staying in New Zealand.

Apparently she had to return to Ireland to apply for her passport so instead of that she posted her passport home, we applied for her VISA, got Visa and posted both back to New Zealand.

I specifically remember all the documents saying it IS ILLEGAL to POST these items(Passport and Visa) anywhere in the world.

You should check this out with the DFA(Department of Foreign Affairs).

They can be contacted on 1890 426 700
