    Hi

Can anyone recommend a family friendly hotel in Kerry with self-catering accommodation attached? It would be also a bonus if they had a kiddies play area...

    Thanks

We've stayed in the Glenagle self catering apartments in killarney twice. Two bedrooms, one en-suite and the main bathroom is also attached to the second bedroom.

There is a large garden out the back of the apartments, fenced off from the river. We always ask for a ground floor apartment facing the green as its so handy we can keep an eye on them running around from the sitting room. You also have free access to the Gleneagle leisure centre and indoor play area and the kids love it - we were down there everyday!

It is only a mile from town centre and across the road from the National park, and there is entertainment on everynight down in the hotel and the INEC has gigs as well as family shows sometimes

    Thanks a lot

That sounds great - I will give them a ring and check it out and I will also take your advice on the ground floor unit. Thanks again:)

The Gleneagle is all good and well but a long walk from the town with kids in tow and that road is dangerous.

The other alternative is the Quality Hotel which has even newer and nicer self catering houses.

The walk is around the same if a little shorter possibly but the road is much safer as traffic moves much slower.

Tesco is also just down the road for stocking up and if you really want to push the boat out Marks and Sparks is right behind Tesco.

Both hotels have great facilities and kids clubs.

Didn't the quality close down recently? Although it might be opening again, im not sure.... And its on the cork bypass road so i think the traffic is nearly worse out there - non stop. True it's close to Tesco but you'll have to go in your car either way.... at least on Muckross road you can just hire a bike 2 mins down the road and 5 mins later you're in the national park.

i hope the weather improves for you!
