Holiday for new years

    Hi,
    Wondering could anyone recommend a good destination for myself and the girlfriend for new years. Was looking at Vienna but hotels seem vervy expensive. Any ideas appreciated.

    vienna will be cold, very cold for new years so you need to take that into account, most central european cities will be cold ie prague, budapest, warsaw etc.

    i was in berlin for new years this year, it fell to -18C at night, if you don't have a problem with that weather i would recommend it for new years, huge party next to the brandenburg gate, bands playing from 8pm, huge firework display at midnight, about 1 million people there

    for somewhere a bit warmer try albufeira in the portuguese algarve, there is a big new years party on the beach there
