For the first time ever the Galway Film Fleadh will have a Fringe Fleadh event. Organised by FilmmakersNetwork.ie, Ireland's largest filmmaking community, the mini-festival will screen new Irish shorts that for one reason or another slipped through the official net. The theme of the Fringe Fleadh is "The Ones That Got Away".

Jason Butler founding member of FilmmakersNetwork.ie explains the birth of the Fringe Fleadh - "There's a real desire to give these films a second chance. It's an opportunity for genre films, more experimental works and shorts that are a bit rougher round the edges but no less exciting or interesting to get screened before an audience."

The FilmmakersNetwork.ie Fringe Fleadh is on Friday 10th July @ 7pm in the Town Hall Theatre Small, Courthouse Square, Galway. Admission is only €5 and tickets will be available at the door.
