Job Market for Multimedia

    yeah its the 11th hour(literlly) and i'm fretting over course choices, i would love (passionate)to do the multimedia degree:D:D, i mulled over it 4 months on end,then finally put it as 1 on my CAO and now i have this nagging feel that won't go away that there will be little or no job prospects by the time i'm finished


    i feel inclined to opt 4 somethin more stable like commerce in nuig, which frankly doesn't appeal 2 me all THAT much

    having previously dropped out of a course(science), i cant bare the thought of doing this again!


    any graduates ,people give me a clear vision of the job market as it stands and is this in a effect a dead end course, as a lot of dcu grads seem to be working in completely unrelated fields(according to the website)?

    I had CA as my first choice on my CAO form but i changed it yesterday to Multimedia beacuse the course seems a lot more interesting its to late to change now i guess since it closes at 5.15 tonight!

    I hope there will be more jobs by the time i finish though :D

    i've just finished multimedia, and there are no jobs, but there isnt any jobs anywhere for most people.

    Commerece is another fairly broad course, and doesn't gurantee anything either, unless your doing nursing and going to be a nurse, medicine and be a doctor...and so on...

    I'd say stick to what you like, do it, tis a good enough course...you can always focus on a direction then if you decide to do a masters

    You're fúcked for jobs no matter what you go into currently so I wouldnt worry about choosing a course for a job. It will be 3/4 years down the line before your out of college and looking.

    we might see each other there in sept yet!:),:D

    heres hoping the points don't go up as i have 400 points from LC 2008!

    Anybody know if the points for this course will increase?

    I put multimedia down as number one on my CAO as well.

    I really hope points go down so I can just get in! Downward trend though so far but really anything could happen as my careers teachers told our year over and over.

    where did you put it on the CAO?

    And yeah i hope they go down or at least dont go up!!!
