Looking for 12-13" screen. Main use - MS Office applications, surfing the net, playing dvds & some games, eg, Sims & Spore.

Have found HP DV2-1010EA for 460 sterling, not sure if this would fit the bill or maybe someone can suggest a better option?

    Thanks in advance.

Just bumping this as now becoming a more urgent need.

Would this be a good option: http://www.elara.ie/products/detailsfullft.asp?productcode=ECE1703470 ?

There is only an integrated graphics card in that laptop. Doubt it would run Spore.

    Whats your budget?

12-13" machines are pricey enough. Especially when you factor in optical drives and dedicated graphics cards

Was hoping to get away with around the €600 mark but think maybe am asking for too much? It's actually for my daughter. At the moment she uses my desktop PC for Spore & her other games but that can be a bit of a pain! We have a virtually unused laptop but it doesn't have a decent graphics card so no good for games. She also needs to replace her portable DVD player so I was thinking we could put the budget for that towards a laptop. She would be taking it out & about fair bit so smaller size & portability are quite important.

    Sorry - back again !

Have been having a re-think on this as it seems I will not find a laptop of the spec I need in a small machine (at least, not without a hefty price tag).

Have re-assessed our needs & main considerations are decent processor & dedicated graphics card, plus RAM & HDD to support this. Am now looking at 16" laptops up to 700 euro mark.

Called into local PC shop today & they had an Acer AS6530G - I think - for 699 (had AMD TurionX2 processor & blu-ray). Had a look on Amazon & they had 6930G for around 570. Also 17" Samsung R710 in Argos sale for 700 - but none in stock!

Acer machines look fine & blu-ray would be a bonus. Would be very grateful for any pointers towards a good machine of this spec. Thanks.
