Similar thread in the fitness forum recently so i thought i would get the ball rolling here too.

Hopefully this thread can guide people into better food choices or just learning something new.

    1. Myth: Coffee is bad for you. Debunk: 2-3 a day can be good for health. Harvard found that female drinkers reduced their risk of type 2 diabetes by nearly a third. Other studies suggest that it lowers the risk of Parkinson's, colon cancer, cirrhosis and gallstones when used in moderation.
    2. Myth: We need to detox to stay healthy. Debunk: London's Imperial College found these diets to be a waste of time. They concluded that the livers and kidneys are the perfect detox machines already.

Myth: Certain foods, like grapefruit, celery, or cabbage soup, can burn fat and make you lose weight.

Debunk: No foods can burn fat. Some foods with caffeine may speed up your metabolism for a short time, but they do not cause weight loss.

Myth: Eating after 8 p.m. causes weight gain.

Debunk: It doesn't matter what time of day you eat. It is what and how much you eat. As long as you are within your daily intake it shouldn't matter.
