    Hi nk12,

Have you tried the Salvation Army?
    http://www2.salvationarmy.org.uk/uki/www_uki.nsf/vw-dynamic-index/79FF668A8768F77480256F19005BE0C0?Opendocument

They helped us many years ago in tracing a missing family member.

Also, you could ask for help in local, (if you know what area he is in), or national newspapers in the UK. They will often let you put a letter/ request for help, in near the classifieds section or to the Letter to the Ed.

Hope you have some luck in your search.

Ah now i remember, i did that but they will only send a letter, which i know he wouldnt reply to as he is moves frequently and likes to be alone.

but i would like my children to meet him.

its looking like private detective is the only way! :(

It's worth trying the salvation army again. My friend found her mother in the UK with them - granted she had to "want" to be found but maybe this time around your father will be more open to getting a letter? Best of luck! I know what a dfifference finding her mother made to my friends life.

I used a government agency called Traceline in the UK to find someone. I don't know if it is still operating, but if you have enough details they can find someone and pass on a letter from you, but they won't tell you his whereabouts. I did that and never even got a reply. Upstanding gentleman my father was!
