  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86 ✭✭jamiecall

Can't seem to get one anywhere. "No recession around here"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 268 ✭✭dublad23

Is any even available online. My current phone is pretty wrecked! If i was to get a 3g one for a couple weeks would they change it to a 3gs when they had stock?

:) back to out of stock now.

It looks like 16gb bill pay is too.

Can you only get a new number buying online.

I want to transfer my Meteor number over - Didn't seem to give me an option

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 878 ✭✭✭Bicky

What you got through? Damn it is not working for me.
I WANT ONE. I am like a child at christmas. I have been waiting for so long to get my hands on an iphone.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 67 ✭✭parka

Still working for me, got my order number too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 878 ✭✭✭Bicky

I just put in my order. Got an order confirmation number and a promise of delivery within three days or less. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭Shamo

Damn i got happy when I saw "in stock" but then says out of stock when you go through the purchasing!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 878 ✭✭✭Bicky

I have a confirmation number but i am still doubtfull. Why would it be available for purchase at seven oclock in the evening after being out of stock for the last few days. I am half expecting an email saying my order will be processed when they come into stock. In that case i will cancel it and get the 32gig in a bricks and mortar shop.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,680 ✭✭✭Skyuser

New Stock will be in stores tomorrow. 16GB only.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭Shamo

All bricks and mortar stores is it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,059 ✭✭✭Kid Nothing

yeah over on the O2 forum, Daryll is saying they'll have 16GB in most shops tomorrow but they'll probably be in short supply.

Quick question for myself, i'm gonna switch from Vodafone to O2 to get one, what do I need to bring with me when I go to switch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 268 ✭✭dublad23

Can anyone ask on the o2 forums. Cant join up. Store on graftom and henry said they wont have stock till lunch time and even then might be none

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 472 ✭✭crapmanjoe

    Same thing with Dundrum

Got there about half 8 and met the manager going into the store, he said there was a delivery coming by courier around lunch time, he couldnt (wouldnt) give a more exaact ETA or delivery amount

    Complete joke

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 47 WarrenB

yep. totally incompetent, I knew O2 would make a dogs dinner of the whole thing, which is why i paid extra and have a nice shiny new white one from italy. Why cant they learn from the last iphone launch.

The O2 forum is laughable. Mods there saying "Stock today" , oops, actually "none today", maybe tomorrow or next week etc .. its a joke really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 666 ✭✭✭pigeonbutler

5 henry street have a few in stock. 16g's only and not too many.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 268 ✭✭dublad23

Henry st store the one opposite arnotts and across from debenhams have stock too now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 335 ✭✭markfla

I would love to get one myself but no way I'll be going through the hassle of switching phone provider....apple are doing themselves out of money by this O2 exclusivity.....I presume it's only available from O2?....a mate of mine got one, nifty little device

There is no hassle whatsoever with switching networks, assuming you're out of contract with your current crowd. It's completely hassle-free, you even keep your number, including the 08x prefix.

Can somebody please post if they know when dundrum / nutgrove are getting their delivery

Both fones are off the hook (straight to voicemail - not that i blame them) and im way to hungover to be driving around in the off chance they get some

Dundrum are looking to get a "delevery" ant time from not to 2.30. Same with Blanch. If the 2 shops dont get stock today it will be tomorrow.

I rang the O2 (5 Henry Street) at 11am - they got in 14 this morning, but had sold 4 already.

So I legged it down there for Midday and got one :-)

Stupid Question maybe but is there no handsfree / earphones with the Ipphone 3Gs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 142 ✭✭King Ian

I have the little black Apple earpiece - I hope to God it still works with the 3GS !!

If I buy one online they send me a new sim card. Could I then go down to a store afterwards and port my vodafone number over?

Edit - ah there's an option during order process for porting!

    Hi All,

I went to the Henry Street Shop nearest O'Connell Street, and the dude said they had stock (16GB), but only for bill pay, pre payers can get them some time after next week. That kinda annoyed me....so I went to the other shop, beside Jervis and M&S on the same street....low and behold they sold it to me there.....strange!!!!!

BTW, anyone know how long ya gotta charge it for the first time....I cant wait to get going with it :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 472 ✭✭crapmanjoe

jesus south dublin is getting done, no stores seem to have them

Paddy posted the following information, which seems to be a blatant lie as Dundrum, Nutgrove and Bray definitely got no stock in 2day!

In the first shop I was in, the dude checked the system and siad Dundrum had some (32 GB at that), woulda been an hour ago or so

The experience shop on henry was out of them, the first one on Henry street had fwew left, shop I was in had only one more after mine :-)

Or maybe the more likely idea that Apple haven't released that many white versions!

Given the problems we've seen in the UK with white ones burning/turning pink I would guess that Apple have put a stop to their production and are trying to rectify the problem.

    hi skyuser

"extreme incompetence" i believe are the words you are looking for.

to the best of my knowledge "o2 ireland" have not been selling the white iPhone 3GS since launch.

any questions posed regarding white units have been overlooked it would seem.

extremely disappointing management of the iPhone 3GS launch in Ireland by "o2 Ireland" imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 826 ✭✭✭dave oc

The 32GB shows as out of stock if you add it as a new customer... If I add it as a upgrading existing customer it seems to let me go through to the screen to add billing/ delivery address info? Seems a little strange as I thought all stock is generally the same and could be used for any type of sale. Havent the money right now to buy it but can anyone else confirm that the order will go through ok?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,415 ✭✭✭chupacabra

Well i tried to buy one tonight, and i get as far as confirming my order and it takes me back to my shopping kart telling me that the item is out of stock.

It hasn't been overlooked at all. I got a email from them clearly stating that they would only have black for the launch, but that if you want the White to let them know, and they would try to get one, but they couldn't give a timeframe. What other questions are there?

O2 don't make the iPhone or control how much stock they get.

Just spotted an excellent suggestion over on the o2 ireland forum by forum member JayShark, don't have a login over there so can't post but an excellent suggestion re: o2 stock updates, i'm sure you'll agree:

    http://forums.o2online.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=4350&page=48

"Ask your shops to set up a group text on O2.ie so that people can register their interest in that shop for a iPhone stock. They don't have to hold them but at least it will let people know that they're back in stock on a first come, first served basis. I know staff are getting pestered over this but honestly like, how hard would it be for someone in a shop to send a group text saying "02 Dundrum have just received 10 iPhone 3gs". They could even text when they're out of stock again to a) prevent them getting hassled b) prevent you guys getting hassled and c) prevent us from wasting our time on this forum.

Guys, that is really basic customer service which is something that you all seem to be forgetting about of late..."

Kudos to JayShark for this excellent suggestion; lets hope o2 takes it's customers opinions on board.
