2009 Ireland Players' Championship

    The draw for the Grand Finals of the 2009 Ireland Players' Championship was made in Bantry on Saturday last, June 27th., by Mick Egan {Roscommon} and it resulted as follows :-

    Group {1}:

    Group {2}:
    Anto McCracken
    Mick Barry
    Ali Powell
    Keith Geraghty

    Group {3}:
    William O'Connor
    Martin Murphy
    Andrew Dempsey
    Mervyn Robinson

    Group {4}:
    Benny Grace
    Steve McDonnell
    Ricky Dunlop
    Darren Clifford

    Group {5}:
    Connie Finnan

    The Groups will play-off on a Round Robin basis with the top two players from each Group qualifying for the last sixteen.

    The Grand Finals will be held on Saturday, August 1st., at the Springhill Court Hotel in Kilkenny.

    Don't rule out John O'Shea in Group {7}.
    After his performance in Bantry he is a strong contender.

    i wouldnt be suprised if brian doheny qualified from group 5 cos he bet damian o driscoll and connie finnan in tramore..same with group 6 i tink any of da 4 players could qualify..results 4 youths id say

    mark and james will be savage match but i tink james will win it.

    dean will beat jason unless he gets his best game back.. and i tink thomas concannon or dylan rutledge will win the plate

    Television cameras will be at the Springhill Court Hotel, Kilkenny, for the Grand Finals of the 2009 Ireland Players' Championships.
    The stage finals will be recorded on the day and will be transmitted by TG4 over three programmes at a later stage.

    It's all systems go for the Grand Finals of the 2009 Ireland Players' Championships at the Springhill Court Hotel on Saturday, August 1st.

    The Prize Fund on the day will be a record € 9,000 and this will include a Jackpot Prize of € 1,000 for the first player to achieve a 9-Dart check-out.

    Check-in for the Men's Championship is between 10.30am and 11.30am and first round matches will be called at 12 noon sharp.
    Any player not checking in before 11.30am will be eliminated from the competition and will be replaced by the next-ranked player on the Rankings List.
    Check-in time for the Ladies' and Youths' competitions is 12.30pm and these events will get underway at 1.00pm sharp.
    A Strict Dress Code will apply to all players and anybody not adhering to this code will NOT be allowed to participate on the day.

    THESE RULES APPLY TO ALL PLAYERS WITH NO EXCEPTIONS
