Bertie opens new Temple Centre. WTF?!

Unbelievable! WTF is Bertie Aherne doing opening the new alcohol and addiction centre? I don't think I've ever seen the fcuker when he wasn't shoving a pint of Guinness into the hand of some bemused head of state. Surely some high profile recovering addict would have been far more suitable (suggestions?) than that Bass-addled cnut!

Yes because everyone who enjoys a drink is clearly a closet alcoholic. A wise deduction OP.

Nice one. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think you'd get a smoker to do an anti-smoking ad or a person who smokes the odd joint to open a drug centre. Personally I think they should have got Degsy.:)

Are they still closing children wards in crumlin?

Where did we find the money for a new alcohol and addiction centre?

He didn't open it, he's the first "customer".

    Followed by Cowen and Harney.

Think Harney has to get to weight watchers first so she can fit into the place

Maybe Mr Ahern should re visit the centre in five years time an ask the people why they ended up there

    would it be

unmanageable 100% mortgages/negative equity that drove people over the edge
because you were in the pockets of the developers and builders and you
oversaw the whole shambolic corrupt celtic tiger

mass unemployment due to uncompetitiveness caused by you pandering
to every ****ing lobby group out there

you are a horrible little bastard Bertie history will not look kindly on you

    Cheers Bertie.

First off don't be such a miserable, horrible git. It's a politician's JOB to pander to everyone a little.

Secondly, prove any of the above beyond reasonable doubt then maybe someone might take some notice. Yes the celtic tiger was a shambles in that it was unsustainable, but that was only part of it. Ireland will not lose all the growth it has seen or anywhere near it. Yes the country is horribly mismanaged but that has only got worse since Bertie left; maybe he did leave because he foresaw the ****storm but that just makes him sensible - what would you do? To suggest he alone caused it is nothing short of stupidity.

The current problems don't stop at the recession (which was exascarbated by, and not caused by the things you allege above). Cowen and co's epic failure at running a country is 90pc of the problem now.

Bertie was always good at enveloping himself in his work.
