    Hello

Myself and my girlfiend are going on holidays for 2 weeks in August however we can't decide where to go. We're looking for:

    - great food & weather
    - some culture
    - some activities

and want to spend maybe about €2k each max (all in). So I was thinking one of these:

    - South of France
    - Spain
    - Croatia
    - Greek islands

We were in Egypt last year and food was apalling. Don't want to go to Italy as have been there a few times...

Any suggestions? Was thinking maybe 1 week northern spain and 1 week south of france perhaps, rent a car etc? Not really interested in Portugal as don't think there's much there - don't want to spend the full 2 weeks just sitting around.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

How about trying further afield than Europe/Egypt and/or package holiday destinations.

For that sort of money you could easily visit the Caribbean, India, China, South America etc.

You will feel you have received better value for money.

I've been to both the north of Spain and Croatia and would recommend them both.

We spend a week on the North coast of Spain, beginning in Bilbao for two days (main thing to see there is the Guggenheim which is spectaulor), two days in small towns along the coast and ending in San Sebastain for three nights. The beachs are good in SS and the old town is lovely for just wandering around. There are also loads of quality restaurants in the area.

We went package last time to Dubrovnik which is also a beautiful city. We're going back this year doing one week in Montengro, (hoping to explore some of the mountain scenery) and then a week in Dubrovnik again.

Another option might be Sardinia, can fly direct with Ryanair and hire a car and explore the whole island, the food is fab there too also.

    Hope this helps.
