Insulted window sills

At the risk of being way off and having been sent for a long stand, I heard recently of having window sills made of insulated material and faced off in stone, say, granite. Not sure exactly how this works or who supplies, but the reasoning is to remove the thermal bridge between the window board and the sill. Anyone heard of these and have an opinion?

Sorry - couldn't resist . I have not seen them

    however
    1. external insulation systems can have brick slips bonded on
    2. so why not stone slips on cills ? Should be possible .

traditionally the backs of concrete and stone cills were insulated against and any hollow window cills can be filled with insulations.
