Long term parking in the short term car park in Dublin Airport

Does anyone know what the story is with long term parking in the short term car park in Dublin ? The rate of €12 a day makes it quite attractive compared to two adults & two children on the aircoach and a taxi home. That, plus the wonky hours we will be travelling at are making it look like a good choice.

The only thing I can think of that might make it messy would be if they made you park at the furthest possible part of the short term car park. I want to be able to just pull into the car park, park the car, and head into the terminal. I don't fancy a huge walk with sleepy kids in tow.

So, the question is . . . can you park wherever there is a space if you pre-book for a few days in the short term or do they send you somewhere specifc ?

    Cheers,

    z

Yeah, but no, but yeah . . .

Book in advance and it's €12 a day in the short term.

Click on the advance booking link, enter in some dates (at least the ones I'm interested in, starting Friday this week) and it comes back at €12 per day in the short term. It's €7.50 or €6.50 in the long term. I presume the cheaper rate is the car park off down the back of the airport and not the one beside the M1.

You're right zagmund - I've got €24 for 48 hours in Car Park C as well.

At level three in that car park you can certainly access car park B without going through any barriers - and the near end of B is very close to the terminal building.

Even the far end of car park C is only 5 minutes walk from the terminal.

There are no pre-assigned spaces - find one and park the car.

Many of the airport hotels offer cheap parking if you stay for a night - might be worth considering, especially if you've an early start.

Have always used http://www.quickpark.ie/ myself - always found it cheap (think its €7 a day) and the buses run to the airport every few mins.

We've used the short term car park for weekends. I think it only cost us about €30 from Fri - Sun, so it's less than half the price of a taxi, which is well worth it. The different options are given to you when you start a booking on the daa website. Obviously the earlier you book the better, as the cheaper prices sell out.
