I grind my teeth on one side when i sleep and it has left one of my front teeth shorter than the other. Is there anything i can do about this e.g an extension? or will the grinding destroy that as well?

Yes the tooth can be lengthened. You may find that other teeth have been worn/damaged also but you have only noticed the obvious one in front.

After it has been fixed it would be wise to wear a custom made nightguard to protect the teeth and the repair work from further wear.

Maybe get a mouth guard too. Not sure how true this is but I heard that after a while the subconcious grinding is modified by the guard and eventually the problem is solved and you can disguard the guard!

Definitaly worth getting a guard if you get the tooth lengthened.

I am in hell right now, every now and again I go through a spout of very bad grinding, it gets so bad that my face, head and even shoulders hurt. I know I have to go get something for it but funds won't reach for a dentist at the minute. Anyone got any ideas that could help?!?!

Ask your dentist about fitting an N.T.I.

I suffer from it too and it is loosening up my bottom teeth.I got a custom made mouth guard from my dentist. It did cost me a hundred euro but it is worth saving your teeth now and not suffer any problems in the future

I also suffer from this and now am waiting for an appt to see a specialist due to the damage I have done to one side of my jaw. Pretty much in constant pain right now - though I am quickly learning to manage it.

Wish I had stuck with it - but get a mouth-guard as soon as possible.
Your dentist can measure you for a proper one - I think they are pricey.
But in the meantime what I am using is believe it or not a sports mouth shield - cost me four euro, hard to sleep with at first but need to stick with it until I cna get a proper one again...
