Was wondering could anyone help me!
I installed the new version of 3.0 software last week on my phone and everything was going grand! Was playing music from my phone on Sat and it just started crackling and went silent! since then I have absolutely no tones on my phone! NOTHING!
It willplay if I have have the headphones attached!
I brought it to store and was told, it was bug in the new software and just to take it home and synch it. I ve done this numerous times and nothing. I ve restored the factory settings and still not working!
Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone go a solution?
I dont want to send it away because Im going away for a few days and I dont wanna be without it!

That sounds like a similar problem that I had on my 2G iPhone a few weeks ago.

To fix it you need to be very sure of what the problem is. There are a couple of solutions but I need to know what exactly is happening first. Is your iPhone jailbroken?

One fix is to put in the earphones and take them out over and over again. Another fix is to have a new audio jack assembly installed - Worse case

With the earphones out of the socket, adjust the volume button. What does the iPhone display?

Can you do something for me?

With the headphones removed, change the volume up/down. Take note of what it says on the screen.

Now insert the headphones fully, and adjust the volume. What does it say on the screen?
