Waking Up with "The Blues"

For the past couple of months anytime I wake up in the morning I tend to just feel really empty / sad.

I don't know what's causing it and it tends to go away after a hour or so or when I get up and go about my usual day.

I don't know what it is but it's just making me feel negative. I'm hoping it's not the start of something that might continue more and more into the day.

Anyone else ever feel like this?

I generally go to bed feeling pretty ok, well nothing that should make me wake up feeling this way.

    Thanks

Maybe you are stuck in a rut. You could look into taking up a hobby and throw yourself into it.

yes i get this and it bothers me alot, I even lack confidence alot more in the morning than I do in the evenings when Im full of energy.

    Things to look out for,
your diet - especially a good breakfast, try and have something small as soon as you get up and then a proper breakfast as soon as you can,bad food is not healthy for the mind
fitness - try get fit, its helping me alot more now
Sleep - my physical tiredness usually has a big effect on my happiness. Make sure your getting your 8 hours uninterrupted sleep.

Yeah, I get this too sometimes...a kind of sad, empty feeling that passes after an hour or so. I thought it was the idea of going to work and the commute there that was filling me with dread but it happens on the weekends sometimes too. I used to get it a lot worse but now I try to give myself a bit more time in the morning to get ready. Get up 15 minutes earlier than you normally would. Get straight out of your bed once you wake up...I personally find the lounging around in bed and contemplating the day ahead/my troubles/things I have to do, a killer...and bed's so comfy that 5 minutes more for a snooze is more of a temptation than I can handle. Get up, get some breakfast, give yourself time for a nice cup of tea (cure for most things in this country), read the paper, give yourself time to have a shower and time to get ready without rushing. I like my morning rituals and giving myself a bit of time before I go to work instead of up, out of bed, get dressed and going to work gives my life a bit more purpose than just working to live.

Sorry, making the presumption you're working here....are you?
