I'm going to Gdansk in a few days and I'm debating whether to bring my own tent or buy one over there. I can't find any English websites that give an indication of price so does anyone know roughly how much they might cost. I'm thinking of 2-3 man tents.

Namiot is the word you want for tent. (namioty - tents)

On a quick search, I've found
this for 315 zl (69 euro)
and this for 339 zl (75 euro).
I'm afraid I've no idea about whether they are good tents or what the prices here would be.

There are probably cheaper ones available too.

Here's another site to buy tents:http://www.namioty.pl/

If you are going there for few days only and have no big luggage better take your own tent.
Prices are the same,or even higher for quality gear and if you don't know someone who lives in this city you'll spend ages looking for a outdoor shop.
    (Gdansk is not that small).
You can get really cheap (~10-30e) low quality tent in almost every hipermarket (auchan, real, carefure) availabe in every big city.
IMHO its only about 5kg extra (you can share the weight when going with 2 friends) ,but you can save time on short trip. I always take mine single hop tent when traveling to Poland for festivals or hiking.

However check this shop (they've branch in Gdansk) http://www.e-horyzont.pl/namioty_137k/ its a popular outdoor shop, they sale mainly descent quality gear, but they've no website in english.
