Me and a few mates are planning on going away for a few days in August. If we could get a really cheap package for Crete we would go there. If not we will go to Barcelona for 4 or 5 days. So anyone got advice, which would be cheaper will probably be the deciding factor!

Crete will be a much cheaper country for food, drink, cigs, etc etc

Barcelona is truly a city break destination and more cultured. Crete is mostly a party destination.

If it is a bunch of lads going away then Crete is the only way to go.

I found Barcelona pricey enough when I was there last summer, although not as dear as home obviously:pbut definitely dearer the spanish resorts and along the coast.
So probably Crete would be cheaper for you:D

Well I suppose it doesnt necessarily have to be Barcelona either so all suggestion welcome!

So how much do you reckon a package to Crete would cost?

And yeah it is a lads holiday so we are looking for sun, sea and the rest.....!

7th August from Dublin to Crete staying in Piskopiano. There are 3 hotels up this hill. €5 taxi each way. 10-15 minute walk depending on sobriety.

From €522 plus €20 supplement + insurance + coach + god only knows what else.

Loads of different dates and different places. All around €520 - €590 per week per person.

Everything up to 8km is €5 because they are government bonded. Thats why most of them are Mercs and other nice cars because they are leased from the government from half the price.

Was in Barcelona 2 weeks ago, great place and really good night life. The Spanish though dont seem to keen on speaking English and beware of thieves if you go there, but it really is a great city!
