    I doubt it will be out this year, there was no mention of it at E3. Surely they would have mentioned it if it was.

    No mention of when it will be out you mean? There was a trailer shown at E3.

    EDIT: Just read the linked article, there's nothing there that hasn't been mentioned several times already.

    They didn't say 2010 either though, which they said about any other game that wasn't coming out this year. I think maybe they were holding off on the announcement for TGS or something considering they had a fair amount of announcements as it was at E3, or maybe they didn't want to take the spotlight away from GT PSP.

    I think Pat from Gamesnash said that the rumours around retailers are a Novemeber release.

    If Sony had GT5 and Uncharted 2 and the new Ratchet and Clank around for Christmas along with the rumoured price drop, I'd say they'd have a fairly strong showing sales-wise.

    I think the gamesnash guys have similar lines of communication as myself, and what you just said APPEARS to be the nail hitting the head, as it were.

    TGS is the perfect showcase for the game, and to announce a worldwide drop in price with an exclusive line-up for Christmas.

    It would be quite a moment in their press conference if they say "Here's the first gameplay footage of GT5...oh and by the way it's being released in a month,"

    It would be an amazing line up for xmas, GT5, Uncharted 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

    I suspect they didn't want to say it was definitely coming out this year at E3, just in case it does have to get pushed back to March or something. Which could be why they didn't say 2010 either.

    They should definitely know one way or the other though by the time TGS rolls around.
