    Hi Folks,

I will be meeting up with a few of my mates in August in Munich. From ther we are hoping to travel by train to Zagreb with a stop or two on the way. Has anyone done this trip before. How much do the train tickets cost(we are traveling one way) and is there much to see on the way?

    Thanks in advance

Ljubliana, Salzburg are on the way. I think it's a direct train or if not then a change in Salzburg. Check the train websites. No idea of the price.

The train ride from Munich to Ljubljana is worthwhile in of itself.
Salzburg is very cultural and Ljubljana is a charming, sociable city.

Zagreb has nothing going for it as a tourist destination. It is actually reminds me alot of Dublin.
Budapest or Venice would be a better bet after LJ in my book.

Yeh def go through Ljubliana and then its very easy to get a train to Zagreb from the main station. Ljubliana is very pretty but if you're there you have to go to Bled! Its about an hour train journey but so worth it! Beautiful scenery and you can do water sports, hiking, etc.
Zagreb is ok but you can see it all in a few hours, nice for a stopover, stay in the Skalinska area if you can. The restaurants are great!

Deutsche Bahn are indicating it would be €89 if you travelled tomorrow: See here
It would be a very scenic journey from Salzburg to Ljublinia. Enjoy!
