Hi all, I've been looking into mooncups recently and have decided that I'm going to get one! Only question I have is... Where can I get one?! I hear that Boots in Dundrum and Stephen's Green have them?! I live just outside Dublin but regularly go in to meet up with friends etc, just want to make sure I'm not being sent on a wild goose chase to find one! Oh and I'm only 15 so ordering it online isn't really an option! Also any personal experiences/comments are welcome :D

I got mine from the mooncup website.

Give the Boots branch a ring before heading down.

I'm sorry if this is off topic, but is the whole thing not a little gross? I love the idea that it's not wasteful but I'd hate seeing what actually comes out of me...

Yep, Boots is your guy for getting one, I think any major stores stock them, not sure about the smaller ones...

I got mine online but I've seen them in smaller boots stores, they cost 20 something euro.

Not quite sure how it's more gross than seeing it absorbed into something...

You don't see as much actually as you put it straight down the loo instead of binning it.

My life is so much better since I started using the moooncup. My periods seem less 'sore' for some reason. No horrible fibres left inside, no stinky pads (except as buffer on heavy day). It does take some getting used to at the start, but nine months later I can honestly say I will never be without one again while I need it.

The mooncup is absolutely brilliant brilliant brilliant.

How long did it take you to get used to using it as a matter of interest?

Just read through that thread and had a look at their website. I remember someone mentioned ages ago that one of the biggest positives about it was you could have sex while using it ... is that right? Judging from the pictures they have on their site I can't imagine it being possible.

That's exactly what my friends said, and I think it's only because today's women are only used to tampons and pads and aren't open minded enough about other options! Sure you see what comes out of you when you use tampons and pads, so I don't see much of a difference! Done quite a bit of research on them and being able to see it is actually a great way for you to make sure you're body's fine and your periods are regular and normal! Having used tampons for 3 years now (never used pads), I'm quite excited to be able to have something which I don't have to constantly remember to change every 4 - 8 hours! Being 15, I'm always on the go and play a lot of sports, but I often forget at school, when I'm with my friends or out on a nightt out to change tampons, but with this there's no worry :D And there have also been no links to TSS with it! Seems too good to be true for me :P

Thanks to all for answering btw and that link to the other thread! Shall be going into town this week to get it! :D
