I have to cancel a holiday that was booked for august only now im afraid it looks like I will loose my deposit (which i expect) and also have to fork out more money for cancelling flight tickets

i understand they have to protect their business but why charge you more money as a penalty when they have a deposit what is the reason for this?

    Has anyone had this problem?

They call it an administration fee.

You can get your deposit back through your holiday insurance if the reasons amount to a claim.

I once cancelled a holiday due to the death of the other person going and got the 50% of the money paid back along with the deposit fee. I didnt even need to go through the Insurance company.
