    Saw this elsewhere

The Art of DeTouch explores the manipulation of images related to the human form. Drawing photographs from existing online portfolio sites of professional re-touch artists, this application allows a user to explore precisely how the images were altered. Using Processing, an open source programming language and environment, before and after images are compared algorithmically pixel by pixel to generate visualizations of the alterations.

    Facinating site.

What intrigues me and annoys me about about some of the fashion shots over the last years, is not the smoothing out of blemishes, spot removal, nor the general tidying up of an image, its the deliberate alteration of (mainly) a womans figure to remove the normal curves that they possess. This in some of the images removes pounds of weight for the goal of the perfect woman, who in the imagination of the photoshop creator exists, but in reality leads to the distortion in childrens and adults mind that they are fat and ugly because they have 'extra' curves that these 'perfect' creations do not.

This site reveals the distortion of reality in some of the images that we have been subjected to over the years that distort our minds, however it also enlightens us to the methods of clean faces and photo retouching what we'd also like to master as photographers.

    Thanks Rory.;)
