    Hey :)

Heading out tonight, and Im going to have a few drinks. Was just wondering what would be the best option for me, considering im trying to reduce body fat. Now I know some people might come along and say water or whatever but im after been working hard in the gym and reckon I deserve a drink.

Im thinking of something along the lines of some sort of spirit and juice??

If trying to reduce body fat ... you should be in the gym now and not out for a night on the tiles ...

You should be gulping water and hitting the jax at home ...

    No shortcuts to your goal

    <Oh yeah? What for exactly?>

    Completely disagree with ya Jod

If you are working hard and go for a few scoops once or so a week and don't go overboard - it will not affect your goals. Go for it and enjoy - enjoy it even more if you have worked hard for it. You don't have to hermatise yourself to get slim, lean or lose fat

Each to his own i guess ... I have no problem with the having a few scoops ... Fairplay to the chap if he is working hard in the gym ... but it is contrary to his goals !!!

    From experience ...

As a person who has gone from 4-5% BF to 20% in the past 8 years ... the spirits just dont cut the mustard !!! Water period ... this should be your drink of choice ...

Reach your goal % BF then treat yourself by all means ...

But there is no point of pretending to gloss it up ... all alcohol should be avoided period ( if only for the post party keebabs:pac: ) ... but maybe wants to reach his goals in a more leisurely fashion ...

Live hard, party hard ,,, but dont expect that your on the path to single digit BF figures from doing it !!! Shifting is pretty hard and takes serious dedication ...

Anyone with a problem with a post should use the report function.

jodaw, the OP asked for advice on what best to drink on a night out considering their current programme, a little advice as to the best options available - nothing more.

    Thanks all.

    preaching to the converted man.

I just didnt know what his aims are. a lot of people who frequent here are people that generally just want to lost a bit of fat/couple pounds and are not super serious about their regime. For these people i offer that type of advice

but it you are really looking to get serious/have magnanimous goals - i agree with what ya said. Alco needs to be out out for a while.

Completely agree with you ULStudent ...

It depends on what are the persons individual goals ... But as the maojority of people know (losing BF is no easy task) !!!

Enjoy your night out mate ... steer clear of the big durty pints ... and good look in your goals

This is the post, long read... http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=57902740&postcount=10

In short if your aim is to get to a certain blood alcohol level with the least amount of calories then drink unsweetened spirits with diet mixers, as the diet mixers increase alcohol absorption. Its an expensive way to drink in a pub though.

I find Jim Beam and Soda water goes down nicely.

I'd stay with soda water and your choice of spirit, diet mixers are full of nasty aspartame, which although calorie free, is really unhealthy.

what about vodka/gin mixed with fruit juice? Say, Britvic Orange or freshly squeezed juice if you're at home :)
I love vodka and lime but I'd say the cordials pack more calories/sugar than you'd think. :(
