When you initially recieve your court summons, how long would it be between recieving your summons and the actual court date?

    a week? couple of weeks?

court date and time will be printed on the summons - at least seven days notice, usually much more.

The minimum is supposed to be a week. Usually it is longer, sometimes a few months. It will depend on the District where the case is to be dealt with. In some areas the local District Court only sits every four weeks, so return dates can be three or four months after the summons is applied for. In Dublin city the District Court sits every day and some return dates are a few weeks after the application for the summons.

For some matters it is 21 days usually civil stuff.

    Thanks, 3 weeks.

I was wondering, because my solicitor wants me to send him the details of my summons once it arrives.

Plenty of time to send it.
