I like it because the Ireland team is good.

Put simply, its the greatest field sport in the world (hurling's a very close second). It is the ultimate synthesis of speed,skill, aggression, physicality, athleticism, guile, and above all team work,so much more so than any other game. The culture and ethos of the game are also very special, and something entirely unique to rugby...Obviously rugby League's superior to Union, but thats just splitting hairs...:P

I love rugby because it was the sport i grew up with and the sport that i played first and then stuck with when i realised the politics of GAA in my area meant that if you didnt have a famous dad, you got nowhere.

My serious answer.

Its a game for all sizes, there is a level for the fit and unfit. It is a game of skill both in hand and kicking. There are so many facets; goal kicking, drop kicks, lineouts, rucks, scrums, and restarts. They involve individual and team skill and great coaching. Coaches and captains have a huge impact in how a team plays, but individual brilliance is the cornerstone of the game to win. Its a physical game but up until now hasn't had the bad elements involved in other sports(although they are creeping in:mad:)

Numerous reasons rather than one, including physicality, exciting sport, the different facets and challenges, that I used to play it at secondary school, but given the option - it isn't GAA - it gets my vote.

Unfortunatley, diving is starting to creep into the game slightly.
