Of late there has been a large increase in the number of what I would call unhelpful posting and in-kind responses to said unhelpful posts.

Let's keep it civil please people. If you're contributing to a thread and it organically goes in a different direction over time, that's grand. Hell, I like that about the threads on here, but insulting or nasty sniping posts will result in a temp ban going forward. I'm bleedin' sick of it. I've given out 3 infractions so far today!!!

Well said Khannie....don't know what it is but this forum has gone noticeably downhill over the last week or two...childish trivial posts getting well immature and nasty at times a lot of it!

It's easy to be a smart-a$$ behind your keyboard folks.

Blame it on the weather!!

just ack from night out and im mangeled. had burger king and a milkshae. never go near the place when im sober and to make matters worse i came home and ate **** loads of shortyibread and chocolate. GO FITNESS FORUM!! see ye tomorrow when i have a head like a constipated baboon

sorry im confused? is the purpose of the bump to get some feedback or because you saw cranky posts and thought people should have another read of this? Im not being sarcastic or anything im just curious

Can i just be annoying (clearly) and point out that deleting "cranky" post is a bit too much censorship imo?

How do you differenciate between a cranky post and a post within a heated discussion.... plus if people feel strongly about an opinion in can lead to being slightly overzealous in replies but i think that kind of healthy debate should be encouraged.............................

I thought some people might have missed it when I originally posted it. I probably should have included that little snippet in the bump. Apologies for the confusion.

edit: I have no problem with healthy debate. None _whatsoever_, even if it gets heated, that's fine, once it's civil.

Debate / argument doses not deleted.

Unhelpful stuff does e.g.

people laying in to each other in the early posts of threads about stuff which has nothing to do with the OPs question. Best to get thread back on topic.
Filling threads or logs with very off topic stuff.

That's cause I haven't been around.... I'm usually the dissenting cranky voice, and peopel are ok with that. But when I'm not here they notice the gap and try to fill it, only to go wayyyyyyyy beyond what is required.

My point was that I'd found this forum has been the way that Khannie and others have described it this thread since the first time I saw it and just thought that it was pretty incredible that as a moderator he/she had only just noticed this today.

p.s: As for that train wreck you missed...glad to see that you have such a keen eye and razor sharp intellect to be able to go through that thread and notice that all the posters there were super constructive....except me of course.

Yes. Generally people who contribute on a regular basis are tolerated the odd off topic post.

Yes, I assumed those were the rules that applied to the inner circle/regulars.

Although it's funny that you'd say this as other moderators and administrators on this site have told me specifically that it wasn't the case...that everyone was being treated exactly the same and that the rules outlined in the Fitness Charter were applied to all...nice to have you confirm that those rules don't actually apply strictly to 'regulars'.
