    Hi,

I got an iTouch as a gift a little over year ago. I have seen newer models that have the App Store on them as standard, and I am wondering how do I get the App Store on my own iTouch. It is a Version 1.1.5(4B1), if that is any help.

    Appreciate any help on this,

    Cheers!

you need to upgrade the firmware to 2.0 minimum, probably 3.0 at this stage. It'll cost about €10 to upgrade.

If I upgrade do I lose all of the songs/movies that are currently on my iTouch?

That's cool. So A)How do I go about upgrading the software to 2.0 or 3.0 and B)How do I then download the App Store software?

You should just be able to hook it up to your computer and go to iTunes, click the check for updates or firmware updates option (not sure which), it'll cost about €10. The app store will then be on your iPod and you can download apps from there, you can also browse all available apps in your computers iTunes store and downlod from there and then sync to your iPod.
