muscle split per week

    So I've read that smaller muscles like shoulders,calves, biceps can be worked more times per week than larger muscles like quads,hams,glutes as smaller muscles recover quicker?
    So if you were doing heavy back, chest ,legs workout a week would adding in extra shoulder calve work in on top of big compund stuff affect compund exercises?
