Split it up, set an amount you want to just have fun with and save the rest. I was in that situation a year and a half ago after I worked for a year between my degree and masters and I really wish I hadn't blown so much of it on crap!!

Or you could just give it to me....

I was in the very same position 2 years ago OP. I spent 12k on a car thats now worth nothing, I invested another 12k wisely in my gut and I squandered the rest of it on clothes and such. My advice; don't waste it, follow your heart and buy that porshe.

    Beer and hookers.

Its the lil things that make ya happy, buy lots of new shiney toys, bring all your mates out, spend 4k on a suit, as for the rest, weekend in the 4 seasons with 10 high class hookers, couple of bottles of champagne and 6g of coke!

Put it all on Red on a roulette table. 50:50'ish chance of doubling your cash. The upside of losing is that you get to brag about blowing a 15k stack in one go which is more that your friends will ever get to do.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

that was on TV few years ago wasn't it? looked like it'd be class but he won and i thought to myself meh it'd been betetr tv if he lost! am i a bad man?

oh and i think he had to go to vegas for this cause no casino here take bets that big, and vegas have a 0 and a 00 so the odds are 52-48 to them or something whereas here there is only a 0 making it slightly favourable to them

Yep ,first thing that came into my head to , beer ,coke and hookers .

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,831 ✭✭✭Slow Motion

You could buy the lease on a bar in southern Spain for 15K.* Beer on tap and the hookers will come on their own (hur, hur, hur)

*Yes I have looked into this!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,181 ✭✭✭Iang87

coke and hookers always seems to be a solution when people have money. Can you imagine if Bill Gates went down that route oh my god Bill Gates could be the new Escobar or or Tony Montana. ooh that sounds unbelievable.

anyway back to the matter at hand dude i dunno what you should do with your money, but find yourself a woman. They always have plans with finances.

if you dont know what to spend 15000 on maybe you dont deserve the money?
give it to someone who needs it or think more about how you can put it to good use

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 112 ✭✭Yunalesca

    Honestly?

I've got a degree already but I'd like another one in a seperate area. Yes. I'd use that 15,000 to do the Computer video game software development and design course which just opened up in Carlow.

I'd make games as though there were no tomarrow.

:P It'd prolly just cover the fees for the four years now though!!!

Buy a lil plot of land in some forest in the middle of nowhere, near a lil stream... make yourself a lil shack... get a load of beers,a grill, a loads of mates and go crazy whenever ya feel like it (preferably when it's Sunny)

what makes you think other people arent going to use it when your not there?!

ive dont that kind of thing before but you should never have to buy somewhere like that. theres a name for it, knacker drinking! camped with some mates somewhere near clare a few years back in a wood beside a lake. had a nice bbq and listened to some tunes. had a great time and not much money spent

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,325 ✭✭✭Frankiestylee

Yeah the ideal spot I was thinking of actually has a random hut built on it and is definitely not privately owned... so eh, yeah, obviously buying some land isn't necessary, but sure if you're trying to spend the money :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 493 ✭✭trustno1

Have a game of Monopoloy with your mates with real money - each player gets E1,500 each and rest goes in the bank.. winner takes all... would make for a very interesting game!!!... :D

Look at ways to make that 15k into 30k within a year. Create your own business venture leasing property is cheap as chips and well you can really get a good deal if you've got the right business idea.

No is a great time to start up a company, interest rates are cheap, lease etc

    do it.

I'd advise against travelling until the worlds economies are stronger. If you go travelling you'll blow all your money and miss out on cheap property etc here at home.

So aim to double your money in a year. then either invest in a company or buy a house. that way you'd have your mortgage paid off when you're in your 50's instead of 70's.

    invest tbh

theres good investments, and theres bad investments. only invest what you can afford to lose. or invest in something that you can reap right away

OP, move to Thailand and live on less than €500 a month for the next 2 years, then decide what you want to do.

truthfully just save it for when you travel, I know you said you already had money for that seperate, but trust me it won't be enough no matter how much it is.

That and the money will get you more hookers and coke abroad then it will here i.e. a bit more bang for your buck

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 556 ✭✭✭jethro081

coke and hookers is just lazy. get some pills and some skanky pill wimmen who'll do all the things a hooker will for free. Granted you don't need 15000 euro to do this but you could do it for ages.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 26 GavDeMav

Living in thailand sounds like a good idea tbh! I was thinking of maybe saving it for a deposit on a gaff when I come back from travelling. Also, coke and hookers doesn't sound to bad now to be honest! Investing?? I dont think il bother with that, it would annoy me and something could come up that I would need the money for... Couple of good suggestions guys keep em coming!
