Karma, what goes around comes around????

Does anyone believe in Karma...what goes around comes around? If you are a bad person to people will it come back and bite you in the a** in some other way?
I have gone through some hard times myself (not because I'm a bad person at all) but have always found that after going through a bad/stressful time, I have always found or got something good in some other way at the end of a hard time

Has this ever happened to anyone?

I don't know if it's strictly Karma but if you mess with me something real bad will happen you.

Surely a time of less stress/bad can be considered "good" in relation to the times when things were bad, no?

I believe in karma to a point in that you should treat others the way you would like to be treated yourself, that's about it really. Not gonna make a to-do list to make up for stuff like My Name is URL!

I respect your opinion, but have found that even when a person is good to another person, that person for whatever reason they can be horrible/ignorant.
Saw it today at work. This man helped out a girl I work with, and not long after he had helped her out, she made this really nasty comment about him, even though he had gone out of his way to help her out.... I just don't get some people, why some people can be nasty like this

I dont like using the word Karma here. I think we create our own fate with our own actions. Not some outside force. But in order to succeed, you must do so with conviction.

If you are a bad person to people will it come back and bite you in the a** in some other way?
    They wouldn't dare :)

I'm on the fence about it

but hopefully it's true.....some people deserve it!

Its a nice idea but i've one saying to be very true" No good deed goes unpunished"

I dunno about karma, the wheel definetly eventually turns...but it's strange how it happens. Usually if I do something really bad I feel pretty guilty and/or stupid which sucks. Is that karma?

I have seen Karma with a few people...some people were horrible to people and it always came back to bite them in some way
I don't know myself, but I really believe if you are good to people good things will happen
I think with fate and Karma there is something there...given my own experience and what I have seen myself.........

Surely wishing Karma on somebody is bringing bad karma onto yourself?

Surely Religion & Spirituality is the appropriate place for this thread, not AH?

Karma rules. I though instead of Pirating a game the other week, you know what? I'd buy it. And then I got a job offer the next day. Which became a job.

Karma kicks ass. Ill probably buy more games now.

What do you think is an appropriate thread for AH ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,749 ✭✭✭CCCP^

Yes, but Karma isn't a superstitious thing, it's real, how you behave effects your relations with other people and if your an asshole long enough, **** will come back to haunt you. Except if your rich. But not if your Phil Spector.

Anything and everything, AH provides general discourse with an irreverent tilt.
But if the OP is looking for serious feedback and discussion on the topic of Karma (as the original post that started the thread would suggest) then R&S will throw up more answers than us lot here

I'd say Paranormal would be a better fit. Throw it in there with all those other whackos that believe in ghosts and fairies and other kinds of nonsense people make up.

I beleive in it tbh. I remember coming out of school and one of the guys in the school threw water over someone and jumped on a bike and cycled off. He went down the kerb but smacked his balls off the seat and fell off into a ball. I lol'd.

Then a few months later he threw something across the road and it hit some stranger, while crossing the road he then got knocked down.

    True story.

Well I do believe in Karma a little.
Essentially the basic is simply logic.

If you're going through hard times now, eventually you'll see good time. It will be either up or down.. Like 50-50 chance.. See the resemblence?

If you want to call that karma, then Karma it is

    please tell us more

    I believe in Karma
And even better I wont have a hand in it
e.g. someone upset me but something bad happens to them. It will not be my hand. Everything balances out in the end really

Ah I HATE the talk of this... there is no mystic force in the universe... things just happen... Everything in life is just like that, things balance out but some people get more or less of the luck than others....

But I HATE when people go on about karma. They don't even know what it means. Karma is from a religion, Buhdism maybe, sorry If I'm wrong. Its not what people think. Its about the SUM of peoples deeds. If you do good things in your life, you will be rewarded in your next life. THAT is the religious belief, not the crap some people spout.

I know one person in particular who raves on and on about karma constantly. They go around doing horrible things to people they know and think it's all ok because they'll put a penny in the poor box the next day or throw a coke bottle in the bin instead of littering and swear blindly that they can do ANYTHING they want to other people and its all ok because they do their good deed and it all balances out.... what a load of crap. If you do good or bad to people it doesn't not all balance out. Other people are left with the results of your actions, good or bad!

Karma has nothing to do with "oh I was a bit sad there for a while so I treated everyone like crap, now things are good I expect everyone to accept me again".... I can't stand people like that... or people who believe in the "Secret"... there is no "Secret" to how this all works or balances out but most people are too ignorant and wrapped up in themselves to realise what it is.

I found a phone about 2 days ago, called a few of the last dialled numbers from my own phone, turned out all the numbers were English.

I managed to track down the guy that lost it (he's in Ireland on holiday) and I returned the phone to him yesterday.

If karma doesn't exist I'm gonna whoop some ass!

It's a long road that has no turn in it. ;)

And there was me thinking roads with bends were longer.
