Morocco or Tunisia

My friend and I are planning on a holiday in August.

Lots of sites are doing great deals and we're currently considering Tunisia or Agadir, Morocco.

We're girls in our early 20's and a little concerned about safety. If anyone has been to either of these destinations would they recommend them?

Also, we're hoping to have about 500e to spend for 1 week, would this suffice?

Any other advice would be great!!!

Morocco is a bit more of a liberal Muslim country than Tunisia. Either way 2 females will attract plenty of hissing from local males. If you are staying in a resort it wont be so bad but when you venture outside things can be different.

€500 spending money each for the week should be more than enough, they are generally cheaper than Spain.

hi there, havent been to Morroco so cant comment, Tunisia has its pros and cons, if you book through a travel agent where your likely to be staying will be in one of the resorts that cater strongly to an English crowd. I didnt like the resort, stayed in Hammamet but if you venture out of the resort the country is very interesting and beautiful in parts.
I'd recommend going to the capital Tunis and then if you can get to Carthage and a small village on the northern coast called Sidi Bou Said, all worth the trip. While in the Capital a taxi driver picked us up and turned into our tour guide for a rest of the day. Charged the equivalent of about €30 for a few hours, best experience of the trip. By all accounts this is common.
I guess what im saying is you have to get out of the tourist resorts to really experience the country, theres a lot of great historical sites. if your just looking for resort holiday id choose else where.
