CAMPSITES ON LAKE GARDA

Hello. I'm thinking of taking my family to a campsite on or near Lake Garda.
Hotels are out of the question because of the price.
We are aiming to go in mid July for 9 days as Ryanair have cheap flights to Bergamo Airport in Milan on these dates.
We are looking at going to a campsite called Camping AlSole an upmarket campsite with a spa and bungalows etc.

Has anyone gone there, whats it like. Or has anyone been somewhere nicer around the same area.

We,re not looking to camp but to hire a bungalow.

    Any views or ideas welcome.
    Thanks.

Check out the ACSI website below, shows all the campsites in the area, you'll have to do a bit of research to see which offer chalets. We drove around the lake last October and noticed campsites everywhere, lots of them on the lake and in better locations than most of the hotels, but didn't get to go into any as they all close the 2nd week in October.

Just back from 10 nights at Bella Italia campsite (2 adults, 2 boys aged 5 and 2) in Peschiera del Garda which is on the southern part of the lake. They offer accomodation in tents, mobile homes, and bungalows. You can book directly with them or go through Keycamp, Eurocamp, Happy Camp, etc. A very big campsite but one which suited our needs.

Beautiful location, beautiful people, beautiful weather (30 degrees every day), and very reasonable price wise. Our first trip to Italy and we can't wait to go back.

Hi we are going to Bella Italia and normally eat at the mobile on other sites rather than going out to eat, are there any decent sized supermarkets in the area I know there is one on the site but these are usually limited in stock and epensive.
