    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone would know the answer to this. I went in recently to look for jobseekers benefit and they asked about working in 2007 which was all good for me, this is what I was expecting. I had two jobs for a few weeks in 2007 and as such, my contributions exceeded the usual 52 possible and instead hit 63. I've spent the last few days trying to get this sorted with the office as saying "I had two jobs" doesn't seem to cut it. My claim has been sent off to be processed now but I was warned this could affect my claim?

Anyone know if this is true? Have I paid too much tax?

    Cheers!

Your main employment should have been paid at class A prsi, and your subsiduary employment at class J (a lower rate of PRSI). It seems you've paid class A in both employments. To see if you're entitled to a PRSI refund you should write to PRSI Refunds, DSFA, Oisin House, Pearse Street, Dublin. They'll have a look at it for you.

Your claim will probably take longer as I'd imagine your record will need to be amended before the local office can make a decision on it.
