Any 'two-ball' courses in Ireland

I've been asked by an English friend if there are any courses in Ireland which traditionally allow only two-ball play, in other words singles or foursomes only. There are quite a few of these still in the UK.

    Anyone know?

Any reason for a course doing this?

Speed of play is the only reason I can think off.

In the UK it's clubs like Muirfield and Royal West Norfolk who stick to old traditions, very conservative. We once played at Muirfield in February, and although there were four of us friends, and we were the only people on the course, they made us play two singles in the morning and foursomes in the afternoon - they just wouldn't listen to us when we told them how far we'd travelled to play the famous course. We did the foursomes in an hour and 45 minutes.
There are plenty of courses quite as famous as these in Ireland - I just didn't know if there are any clinging to the old traditions like this.

Great idea. If only for an open day. Played a 4ball in glasson last week, took 6hrs 15 mins!

    Oh God.

We once played a fourball 9 holes at Collingtree, UK, in 3 hours 15 minutes, then the back 9 in two hours flat.
Reason? The marshals removed a Japanese 4-ball from the course and gave them their money back.
