Not a lot at that price, there were some Principa's on CRC for that which looked alright, that Prolite looks nice too. You could consider the planetx aluminium race bike too. I have one of the Brand X frames that I built up for my brother last week (its the same frame as the much maligned LIDL bike)... Picked it up on Ebay new for about 190 delivered including carbon fork and headset although it was missing its barrel adjusters, bottom bracket cable guide and seat collar clamp.

I stuck on an old Dura Ace 9 speed group set I had taken off my old training bike (broke the shifters doing so and had to put some Tiagra 9s on instead), as well as old Askiums, ITM stem, bars and saddle etc.. that other lads in the club had lying around. All I really had to buy were a few cables and a seatpost etc...

Rides very well for a bike that cost me less than 250. I'd love to talk about how its stiff yet vertically compliant etc.. but the fact is that I ripped it up a couple of hills out of the saddle to test it and it was solid as a rock, felt very nice in fact. If the brother decides that cycling is not for him I would be very glad to train on it for the winter. Looks ok too for a bike built from a cheap frame and scrap parts although the welds are really ugly and unfinished even compared to a Ribble frame that I have (although its lighter than the ribble). The scott logos are from a debadged Scott Carbon frame I had that I never got around to installing, just stuck em on for the sake of it though and I think it looks nice, kills the plain look a little.

This one is a size 52 by the way but they fit on the large side, its effectively more of a 54/55 as its low but very long across the top. Impressed with its ride though.
