    Hi guys,

Just got the break-down of my exam results for my finals. I was wondering what are the routes for appeal, if there are any? Has anyone else appealed there final results?

    Thanks in advance.

Here's a very handy page (aimed at tutors not at students, but handy nonetheless), with closing dates for the appeals and all:

    http://www.tcd.ie/Senior_Tutor/tutors/appeals/ and
    http://www.tcd.ie/vp-cao/teo/vpprocsappeals.php

Your first step is viewing your papers and getting in contact with your tutor. Ad misericordiam by the way is also known as appealing under extenuating circumstances.

Get in contact with your tutor immediately. If you hear nothing back, go to the Senior Tutor's Office. The Students' Union's Education Officer (House 6 - Hugh Sullivan) is there to help you through this process and can give more in-depth information about the scheme than I can.

Best of luck with it. Bring a calculator to when you view your papers btw, academics can and have made mistakes calculating up the totals.

Great advice, thanks a million. I have since sent off an email to Hugh. So I think the best move no is to talk to my tutor (who actually supervised my dissertation!).

Anyone else have experience with appeals?

    Cheers again!

For me, an appealing exam result would be a first or a 2.1... :P

A guy I know got through to SF on an appeal on his supplemental last year. That's the extent of my knowledge of the system, fortunately.
