media player will not play dvds WHY?????

    i have recently taken vistas off my pc and reinstalled xp, now i cant plat any dvds does anyone know what to download in order to fix it, even if download a different dvd software.

    Currently i am told its not compatable all possible solutions would be brill thanks folks......

    Is any MPEG-2 codec installed? Try VLC as that comes with a suitable codec.
