Last night I went to a weight loss challenge in carlow town, meant to be a weigh in taking measurements and then step class and bum's and tum's. but no it was a shambles

well after getting there, they took our measurements badly I might add but never mind,

but they used this scales to weigh you and measure body fat, water, muscle etc in the body and I just feel it was not an accurate reading.
I know for body fat measurement you need to be fasting for at least 4 hours and no exercise. but Ild had my dinner an hour before hand and we walked a half an hour to the class.
any way I'm totally confused and was wondering if they are accurate at all, I felt so disheartened as I walk every day and I'm doing a aerobic work out about 3 times a week at home, I know I'm not totally unfit but the readings i got would make me think I was. my age was 48 im 33 i dont smoke and I dont drink much at all may be at the weekend ild have one or two no more. im breastfeeding so not to intrested in drinking at the mo LOL

also the exercise was awful no aerobic exercises actually no warm up at all straight in to advanced tummy exercises and no set pattern to them, it seemed to me it was all about feeling pain!! stretching was an after thought as well. I was so disappointed and didn't sign up for it as I wont be back,

What also worried me is they told me i could lose more than 3 and 1/2 stone in 12 weeks, now that's great and all, but long term I don't think its healthy is it, I always thought it was better to lose it slow and exercise to help your skin return normally as well ,so not to be left with a thin body and flabby skin LOL .
any way if any one has any input Ild love to hear it please

shambles but the body fat thing you do NOT have to fast before when just using a calipers and keep it simple - get a tape measure and measure yourself.

Your mainly doing cardio which is great but what weights are you doing?

Your current diet? Height and weight?

There's a lot to be said for skewing the initial weigh in results to make the eventual loss look even better.

I'm not doing much weights to be honest yet! (on less you count carrying around a 9 month old)

I'm currently going to weight watchers so I would have
muesli for breakfast, chicken or tuna wrap for lunch with salad, stir fry chicken, brown rice, mince, pasta (brown) or steak grilled and baked potato and loads of vegetables that's just a small sample I do need to eat more fruit I think.
I'm 12.13 I think now a lot for me as I'm 4ft11 but Ive lost 9lbs so far its been slow going but I am feeding my baby as well so unsure of how much I should be eating

To be honest thats the feeling my self and a few other got, it was a huge selling pitch for some meal replacement drinks and supplements for a nice sum of 120
you could do it with out the supplements thats what I wanted more exercise for toning but we got the ooohhh aaahhh you ll lose more on the supplements, which might be the case but I'm not living on them for the rest of my life I want to eat healthy and exercise and maintain my weight loss when I'm finished
