    Hi,

I've been trying to get in shape a bit recently and have followed the one hundred pushups program. I've found it good enough.

    http://hundredpushups.com/

Just wondering - do you think it would be a suitable routine in terms of reps to follow for sit ups also?
If not can anyone recommend a better one please? Also - which is better - sit ups or crunches, or both together?
I'm slim enough - just looking to tone up my abs in conjunction with my arms. Thanks!!

if you look on the site they also have a twon hundred sit up challenge and two hundred squat challenge. Im thinking about doing the hundredpushups...is it hard? and does it make your arms bigger or just tone them?

I don't think the abs need to be worked to this intensity. Variation of sit -ups, plank, leg raises etc combined with a good clean diet should get you where you want to be.

A hundred situps isn't really gonna do much for you.

Is the goal of the 100 situps to get visible abs? If so it's more important to reduce the fat on your stomach which is more diet than anything else.

If you are already relatively slim and want to make the muscles of your abs bigger then training them with weight is the way to go. This is me doing my favourite abs exercise.

+1. once you are past 15 reps it is mainly endurance work. You never hear of people with a goal of say 100 military presses with a 10 or 20kg. They just go to higher weight and stay in lower rep ranges.

With pushups you can elevate your feet, it is a better plan to aim to find variations to keep yourself in low rep ranges.

I do prefer bodyweight exercises. I would highly recommend a chinup bar, you can do chins & pullups, and for the abs you can do hanging leg raises.
