I was in Australia when this US remake was aired and the amount of abuse it got was staggering. Newspapers devoted a lot of coverage to it. Barely anybody watched after the first episode and they then pulled the US version and starting airing re-runs of the original.
I did like Kath and Kim but apparently the US version isn't a patch on it.
It's understandable and probably similar to what would happen here if a Father Ted remake went ahead!

It's so "American", they made Kim thin and pretty ffs!

Seen the first few episodes of the US version
I would advise giving it a miss
    Not funny at all

Believe it or not, it gets even worse... I gave it three episodes when it aired in the US and couldn't stand it. It got axed after 15 or so episodes though and is not coming back next year (though how it lasted so long in the first place is anyone's guess...).

    Mmmmm... Selma Blair.. tasty!

Thought the original was muck.. and Molly Shannon is about as funny as taking a toothpick to your eye!

It's been cancelled in the US alright.

I think they missed the point of the original, judging by the US 'Kim'.

Caught a bit of it last night. It seemed the same as the Oz one but it just doesn't work. It felt too forced whereas the original felt natural.

My step-dad (an Aussie) hated it. He switched after a few minutes.
