Hi people. Ok I have been thinking about this for a while but I've never really acted upon it. Now seems like a good time. I am wondering if anyone out there would be interested in setting up a Spinal Tap tribute band?
In these bleek times I think people need cheering up and what would be better than going to a gig and hearing some live Tap music being played.
I play guitar (rhythm or lead) and could do vocals if necessary. I'm based in Dublin city center. I'd be looking for another guitarist, bass, drummer and keyboard. Any ages would be cool (I'm 23 myself)

If your interested in having a laugh and playing some awesome songs while doing it just reply here or send us a PM.

    Cheers.

good idea, I know a ton of people who'd go see a god spinal tap tribute band. I'd be up for doing keyboards possibly. Must have a listen again to the soundtrack and see how hard the keys solos are!!

"Turd Ferguson" I tried to use that user name when i signed up to boards.ie.
Havent been in a band before but have always considered it, been playin takin lessons for bout 3 yrs and could deffo pull off a nigel Tufnel singature solo (hammering on and off two notes over and over)!!

Whats the latest with this Turdo??

Was goin to suggest "spina Bifida" as the band name, thought it might be a bit unPC though, but these c9nts have already claimed it:

Well so far we have a few people interested...mainly guitarists and possibly a keyboardist. I guess if we had a few guitarists we could take turns on bass if needed but we'll need a drummer (you wont die FFS!!!!)
Judging by the reaction so far I think this could be quite a fun thing to do, even if its just something for the summer where we do a string of gigs and leave it at that. I think I'll give it a few more days to try and find more people interested and then organise a jam ro something. The more the merrier (especially drummers....just incase:pac:) so spread the word to your friends if you have any :D

I know another possible keyboard player who is a big tap fan and likes dressing up. He's got two 'ands so he could do the bass part for big bottom too.

Surely a good band name would be Spinal Pap, and you could get a puppet show to tour with!

Awesome! As far as names go I think we would need to be called one of the names they used before Tap; The Originals, New Originals, The Regulars, The Thamesmen, The Dutchmen, Love Bisquits...there are alot to chose from.

Yeah if we could get a few drummers we could change after every song or 2 because of "death"

Guitar (rhythm or lead) and backing vocals, if the other guitarists storm off (their wireless pack might irritate them or something)

Have both Tap albums and the film pretty much memorised!
