    Hey everyone,

I have a provisional job offer from a home care company but they want me to complete a fetac level 5 carers course first. The lady I spoke to said that I can do it in a week..? Does anyone know anything about and where I can complete it?

    cheers

YOU couldNT complete a whole fetac level 5 award in one week because there are a lot of assignments and exams to be taken let alone the quantity of material you'd have to cover in order to be able to do them, plys you'd have to complete 10 days work experience and a major project on it which obviously couldnt be done in a week.

But i have seen healthcare assistants courses that last a week, possibly with fetac level 5 component modules... but not all 8 needed to get the full level 5 award. There is a company in Dublin that had an ad on loadzajobs.ie for a 5 day course but as far as i know its for people who are going to work for them, but maybe they'd let you do it. I couldnt find the link but if you have a trawl through it you'll probably come across it.

Can you post that companies name and website link please.

I honestly cant see how they could deliver a full fetac level 5 award in a week, thats 8 modules, including 10 days work experience and projects and exams. Seriously?

    You meant these?

As i said this is NOT a FULL FETAC Level 5 award its one or two modules of it called component certificates. You need 8 of these for your full award. So the company that made the job offer probably only want this component, but it is DEFINATELY not a full fetac award
