Does anyone know if Xmusic has vol/tone pots in stock and if they do how much ?

Can't see much info on the site with regards servicing/repairs etc.
have they price a list up in the shop ? Can't remember ever seeing one up in Musician Inc. and the quote/price of a service or pickup replacement seemed to vary depending on who you were talking to.

If they do have them, they'll probably charge way over-the-odds for them. Give Maplin a look.

The best deals are on t'internet, but they're probably only worthwhile if you're buying in bulk.

These guys seem to be good Alan. I remember Kranog recomending them on one of my old threads, he mentioned he had gutted and upgraded all the electrics on his Les Paul.

Cheers for the links guys but can't really order online due to lack of plastic/don't like prepaid cards etc.

Has anyone seen a price list of "services" up in X Music ?

Last time I bought pots of Maplin they only had the longer shafter type and they are designed for PCB, ie they have mounting/soldering pins as opposed to lugs, like this

You could use them but I wouldn't if I was you, I used them on a DIY pedal once and ended up having to swap them out.

I would say if you were looking at maplins skip them and go straight to radionics, much better inmho. As far as prices for services go, Xmusic use the guitar workshop to do most of their work hence no price list. He does some work in xmusic but its a seperate company. Get in touch with Eugene at the guitar workshop for a price. http://www.theguitarworkshop.net/

Does anyone else think it's odd that they've never had a price list of services ? Fair enough different guitars require a bit more work and hence a different price - wiring up a pickup in a Sheaton or other guitar without an access panel for intsance. It's just annoying there's no standard prices or even a list of guide prices apparently.

Do you normally see a list of prices for a mechanic?

    I don't have a car so I don't know...
I've seen guitar shops up and down the mainland UK and they've nearly all had a price list up of services offered.
