Q1. Why did Leinster allow him to leave?

Q2. Is he really as good as we've have seen in Churchill Cup?

Felix Jones shall henceforth be known as Keith Earls II. :D

To all Leinster fans, because we feel so bad about taking Jones away, we will gladly offer you the services of Denis Hurley. :D

    1. Rob Kearney, Shane Horgan, Isa Nacewa, Girvan Dempsey and Luke Fitzgerald.

    2. He's pretty good alright.

Its difficult to say why Leinster let him leave but one things certain and thats Cheika wanted him to stay. I think with Kearney being so young and having a long career ahead of him at Full back along with the signing of Nacewa and the fact that Dempsey can still play meant Leinster felt he was surplus to requirements. Felix isn't as effective on the wing and even so Leinster have Fitzgerald who will also have a long career ahead of him and of course have Horgan, Nacewa who can also cover wing, Keogh and another great prospect in Keating (scoring tries for fun for Clontarf) in the wings.

As for is he as good as he played well my brother is good friends with him and he always used to be in my ear about Felix Jones since school level about how he was going to be a star. I've seen him play a couple of times and hes been exceptional and that was at wing which isn't his strongest position. I reckon hes going to be an excellent signing for Munster and will no doubt be in the first 15 by end of the season

    You lucky, lucky, bastards!

Why must you compare everything to Munster..?

Jones was class in the final. He had some catch where he caught it, turned and sprinted down the pitch to make a try. Great play.

Ah, he's going to Munster and with his talent, he'll be the next big thing (i.e another Keith Earls).

    Simple logic mate. ;)

Since when do I compare everything to Munster?

Compare everyting to Munster? Hes a Munster player mate and as much as it pains me to say this for now he is Munster.

(though I know for a fact Jones is a diehard leinster man so maybe theres hope he can do a u-turn on this silly, silly move. You've made your point Felix we should've paid more attention to you....now come back.....)

Keith Earls 2? No, different players with different styles in different positions more of a Rob Kearney 2 to me. But good none the less, oh and thank you very much leinster.

how is shane monahan doing? I heard he had a good year but thats about all i heard. is he highly rated? will he make a top player in your opinion?

I went to school with him but the rugby team in school would have been very very very very poor so never really seen him play properly

[provincial sh*t throwing] Look at all you Munster lads rejoicing in this hollow victory of sniping Jones ..... Lets see what's next on the Leinster best backs in the world production line......do we look worried??? Start producing your own players and then ye can talk [/provincial sh*t throwing]

    :D Seriously though....give him back.

He has been superb at underage and AIL level, don't know how things will go for him though, Leinster squad for 2009 / 2010 hasn't been announced yet, but hopefully he'll be in the full squad this year...worryingly though, there are a lot of players vying for a senior squad spot in the back 3 (let alone game time) so it's very difficult to keep them all happy, but he's certainly a player I'd like to see make it.

I think it's great for Irish Rugby that he's gone to munster. aparently Elwood has been trying to get him to go west for a while now. He was never going to get game time with Leinster he's too far down the pecking line. Of course he's not going to be heading down first choice to Munster but he won't have 4-5 people ahead of him. It's similar to Niall ronan who had he stayed at leinster would have been behind Sean O'Brien.

Look at Ronan now many people would pick him ahead of Sean O'Brien and that's purely off the confidence he's got from playing a fair bit in the Magners league and HEC.

    And the fact he's 27 and O'Brien's only a young 'un. ^^

It made perfect sense for Munster and Jones for him to join the team. Munster have one fullback in Hurley, and then we have a center and an outhalf covering the position. Whereas Leinster have a big number of very talented full-backs.

There are a fair few prospects pushing through at the moment, and there is shag all chance they'll all get decent amounts of game time. I hate to say it, but it might be worth a few of them going to Premiership clubs to get game time. It's a great thing that Kidney was happy to pick Neil Best, Bob Casey, Jonne Murphy for the Churchill cup. Look at the Ross & Reddan coming back this year. It isn't the worst thing ever any more.

McKinley is a great prospect. Best one around Leinster at that level I think. It would be harsh if he couldn't break through just because Sexton was so young, but I'd prefer to see him play top rugby somewhere rather than see him fade out of the game.
