Clarification needed... Quad LNB with terrestrial Input.....??

I recently bought a new DM800 motorised system, which was supplied with one of these Quad Universal LNBs that has also has a Terrestrial input inbuilt to the LNB.

It wasn't what was ordered, but I was happy to take it as I thought I could make use of it.

My intention, was to connect my Terrestrial TV aerial to it and supply 2 receivers in different rooms.

As I understand it, I would need a single cable (for each receiver), that I would connect to a DiPlex faceplate to separate the signal back to Satellite and Terrestrial, then connect from that faceplate with cables to the TV (RF) and satellite with an F Connector. If that isn't how it works, I dont understand the point!

Anyway, assuming it is, one thing that further worries..... Obviously the LNB is connected to the Diseqc motor, with one of the cables running on from that as the feed to receiver one, that will control the dish. Will the fact there is a motor involved cause any problems with this configuration? I'm hoping and expecting it wont, but before I take the plunge and take the aerial down to run the feed to the LNB, I just need a little clarification on this. (ie - moving the dish for example, wont affect the Terrestrial signal to the 2 TVs its connected to?)

I appreciate that receiver 2, will have no control on the dish position, but as long as it can carry the terrestrial and satellite signal for the satellite the dish is pointing to, thats all I want.

    Many thanks.....

    .

I am not sure that the terrestrial UHF signal will pass through the motor without signicant loss. But it probably will. It also does not state if power would be available on the terrestrial input for a masthead amp (from a satellite receiver). If you have a masthead , you probably would have to cable from the output of the power supply unit into the terr. input of the LNB.
Never seen one of these before.

Sorry.. you lost me a bit there! (But probably 'cos I don't understand this too much!)

My Terrestrial aerial is just a plain ordinary high gain aerial. No power runs though it (that Im aware of!).

At the end of the day here, if it doesnt allow the signal to pass, then it kind of defeats the object of the exercise - in as much as the LNB is pretty pointless!

Hopefully someone has one (or similar) that can provide the answers!

    Cheers anyway.

Should work fine then (on the non-motor cables) as long as you are using the correct diplexed outlet plates to split the signal.
As regards the one with a motor, just try it and see!

Cant' really do that. Its an all or nothing scenario. If it wont work in the living room, with the DM800 and TV, then I will leave things as they are and carry the signal as I currently am. I'm not going to remove aerials and cut cables to test. That's why I'm hoping someone here already has this setup (or tried and failed!)
