He buys 90%of his motors at wilsons auctions and offers no warranty or anything on his cars. Steer clear of this n4 cowboy if i was you.

*Tripper*, I've deleted your post as it could be considered libellous. Please try and rephrase it so it's factual.

I bought a car from palmerstown motors a long time ago, maybe 10 years ago when they sold jap imports.
Service was good and I had no problems getting them to sort out a couple of little problems with the car I bought.

Management may have changed since then.

Auctions = Gamble IMO. If the car was in good nick why wouldn't you sell it through normal routes, unless you're desperate for the cash!

That explains it good man.............don't mind this ****e there is no market for second hand cars at them moment. Auctions will sell your car on the night dollars guarnteed. I've bought loads of cars at auctions, just last week at wilsons i seen a 306diesel on a 03 plate go for 1500 euro, nctéd taxed and with a bit of service history, don't mind all this buy from where you know crap, you never know where the car as been.

All fine if you know you're stuff and are willing to take the chance. Unforunatley most people are not mechanics. Therefore what may *appear* to be a great deal *may* turn out to cost you a hell of a lot more in the long run. Not worth the hassle IMO.

P.S. pokerface, no need for the abuse. It would be much kinder to say 'IMO....' as opposed to ' don't mind this ****e'.

They have been there a long time, unlike many so must be doing something right, right? Wrong?

Sorry man a bit out of order there.... but if you buy a bogey motor stick it back in a couple of weeks later. worst case is money back.......Renault newlands cross sold all there stock there about 3 weeks ago at a 70%loss ie if the garage price was 10'000 euro it sold for 3-3'500k at wilsons...cash is king.

    No worries dude!

And your point is taken too. On second thoughts it would be well worth while on newer / repo'ed stuff but for older stuff I (personally) would steer clear.

Back to Terry McGovern Car Sales though - how can he 'sell as seen'. I've seen 'Carnation' doing similar. As a dealer as opposed to a private seller they have to stand over what they sell!

Wilsons or Merlins car auctions.Which is best for deals on commission etc?

Stay well away from N4 Car sales. The management is rude and arrogant with no sort of customer service or warranty offered on cars.
