Playing around with automater (10.5.7)

Out of all the IRC clients i have tried, i have yet to find one that will automatically type a now playing message and send it in an irc chatroom. They all seem to require me typing /np or /itunes. So far i have tried chatzilla, mIRC(through crossover), colloquy and conversation. So im wondering can i achieve what i want…

So im wondering can i achieve what i want through automator, or apple scripts?

I the client i am currently using is iRC, which takes applescripts. But i would also be ok with using chatzilla, colloqu or conversation, if someone can get the itunes thing to work, but can also get scripts of large pieces of texts to work. (only shows in iRC)
